Omni Control Technology, Inc part in US Chip Act

In the fast-paced and ever-evolving era of technology, semiconductors play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations and creating advances in various industries. Recognizing the importance of this industry, Congress passed the CHIPS Act in 2022 to reinforce domestic semiconductor manufacturing, design, and research. This Act aims to fortify the economy and national security while strengthening America's chip supply chains - a move significant for the tech industry's future.

At the forefront of this change, Omni Control Tech has been instrumental in supporting firms with the new demands and frameworks set by the CHIPS Act. For example, one of the company's semiconductor customers requested a collaborative partnership to develop new semiconductor equipment for an end customer in America. In response, Omni Control Tech quoted and manufactured two old-style control panels in September 2022 to provide foundational support for designing and manufacturing a new control panel for the upcoming year.

As we ventured into 2023, Omni Control Tech utilized the feedback obtained from the old styles to improve the design for the new style—the latest design package, received in June of 2023, culminated in extensive collaboration with the customer. Omni Control Tech's commitment to innovation and quality was recognized when the company was awarded the first new order for seven Control Systems, with deliveries beginning in January 2024.

Omni Control Tech successfully deployed the first phase of the system to its final destination—a chip fabrication plant in the U.S. Three more systems are undergoing integration and final SFAT testing, with the remaining two systems scheduled to be shipped later this year. The value of this contract is estimated to be around $600K, reflecting the substantial investment in the domestic semiconductor industry.

What makes Omni Control Tech unique is its production-proven Optima resist strip system. This system provides high throughput per square meter of clean-room space at the lowest cost. Other notable features include its remote ICP plasma source for ultra-high throughput and its new compact MW Downstream plasma source to support a range of process chemistries and sensitive applications. The system can be configured for 100mm—300 mm wafers and delivers high throughput at lower total system cost, a testament to Omni Control Tech's commitment to efficiency and innovation.

In conclusion, Omni Control Tech is shaping the semiconductor industry and contributing substantially to the broader technology industry by creating reliable and cost-effective solutions. By adhering to the guidelines set by the CHIPS Act, the company is playing a significant role in bolstering the U.S. economy and national security.

Congress Passes Investments in Domestic Semiconductor Manufacturing, Research & Design

In July 2022, Congress passed the CHIPS Act of 2022 to strengthen domestic semiconductor manufacturing, design and research, fortify the economy and national security, and reinforce America’s chip supply chains.

The share of modern semiconductor manufacturing capacity located in the U.S. has eroded from 37% in 1990 to 12% today, mostly because other countries’ governments have invested ambitiously in chip manufacturing incentives and the U.S. government has not. Meanwhile, federal investments in chip research have held flat as a share of GDP, while other countries have significantly ramped up research investments.
